In December 2017, just two days before Christmas, Bam Margera's wife Nicole Boyd Margera (who he calls Nikki) gave birth to a son, Phoenix Wolf Margera. His dad, Phil Margera, looked proud as punch as he watched Nikki cradle his grandson while dressed in a Santa suit. The whole family was elated by the new arrival, but the feeling didn't last. In September 2021, news broke that Nikki had filed court documents asking for full custody of their son. It seems as though the relationship fell apart following Bam's experience with addiction, but Nikki doesn't appear to have given up on him just yet.
"You usually see child custody issues attached to a divorce, but Nicole made custody a stand-alone," said TMZ, which obtained the court docs. "She did not file a divorce petition to end their eight-year marriage." According to the gossip site, Nikki wants Bam to be able to visit their son, but not alone. The "original prankster," as Bam refers to himself in his Instagram bio, must be supervised by someone when he comes to see Phoenix. According to TMZ, Nikki is happy for Bam to pick his own monitor, but she will have to approve of that person first. For all his troubles, Bam clearly adores his son, who appears regularly in his Instagram feed. Notably, he shared a cute snap of them sharing some ice cream together as recently as April 2021.
