Almost a year since The Bear took the world by storm, getting a rapturous reception in both the US and the UK and plenty of awards attention, the series is now on its way back to Disney Plus for a second season.

The show stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmen Berzatto, a fine dining chef who comes home to run his family's Italian beef sandwich shop in Chicago following the death of his brother.
The frantic, stress-inducing series also has a lot of heart and fans have been holding out for the second season ever since it was first announced soon after season 1 debuted. But when will they get to see more from the team at The Original Beef of Chicagoland?

Has The Bear been renewed for season 2?
It has! The Bear was officially renewed by FX for a second season back in July 2022, after all eight episodes had been available on Hulu in the US for under a month.
In a statement following the show's recommission, showrunners Christopher Storer and Joanna Calo said: "We are so grateful to FX, our insanely talented cast, our crew who worked hard, fast and in the dead of winter, not to mention everyone who watched. And we can’t wait to bring you all back to The Bear in 2023."
The Bear season 2 release date
We now know exactly when The Bear season 2 will debut on Disney Plus in the UK, and there isn't long to wait.
The new season will stream all 10 of its new episodes on the platform from 19th July 2023, just under a month after it will debut in the US on 22nd June.
The new season will follow Carmy, Sydney and Richie as they work to transform their sandwich joint into a next-level spot.
The synopsis for the new season says: "As they strip the restaurant down to its bones, the crew undertakes transformational journeys of their own, each forced to confront the past and reckon with who they want to be in the future.
"Of course, it turns out the only thing harder than running a restaurant is opening a new one, and the team must juggle the insane bureaucracy of permits and contractors with the beauty and creative agony of menu planning.
"The transition brings a newfound focus on hospitality as well. As the entire staff is forced to come together in new ways, pushing the boundaries of their abilities and relationships, they also learn what it means to be in service, both to diners and each other."
The Bear cast - who will be back for season 2?
The cast list for The Bear season 2 has now been unveieled, with all of the central cast returning including Jeremy Allen White, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Ayo Edebiri.
This season will also see a new cast member in a recurring capacity, with Molly Gordon (Booksmart, You People) joining the show in an undisclosed role.
