More than 100 employees at the John Deere East Moline works will be placed on indefinite layoff starting in September.
The plant employs around a thousand people; around 120 will be laid off on September 6.
Deere said the company continues to adjust the size of its production workforce to market demand for products manufactured at each of its factories.
The company expects equipment sales to decrease for the 2016 fiscal year.
