The tornado tally from Wednesday (May 17th) night is now up to 5. The strongest tornado was on the ground for about a minute but did cause damage near Galva, IL.
This tornado, with its EF-2 rating and winds up to 120 mph, damaged trees and shingles on one home. Then it heavily damaged another home with the roof removed and doors blown out. One injury was reported with this tornado.
It was one the ground from 9:20 to 9:21 p.m.
The twister was 50 yards wide and stayed on the ground for about 1.29 miles. This was near Galva and the tornado did cross over HWY 34.
