UnityPoint Health fell victim to another data breach. This time — affecting nearly 1.5 million patients.
The company learned of the “phishing email attack” on May 31.
Emails sent to UnityPoint tricked employees into giving their sign-in information — giving the hackers access to email accounts — between March 14 and April 3.
Investigators say the hack was likely focused on the business funds, rather than the personal information of patients.
In April. about 16,000 patients were told about a different data breach, linked to a phishing attack.
