The second season of "Batwoman" saw the defeat of the villainous Black Mask (Peter Outerbridge) at the hands of Ryan, Alice, and the Bat-Team. They also saved Kate Kane (now played by Wallis Day) and restored her memories, after which she chose to leave Gotham in search of her famous cousin, thus leaving the city in the hands of our favorite heroes.
But that wasn't all that happened! The finale, which was titled "Power," ended with Luke finally suiting up as Batwing and the promise of some familiar antagonists potentially joining the fray in Season 3. The final scene of the episode saw several items belonging to Batman's rogues, like Poison Ivy's growing vine, Penguin's umbrella, and even the Mad Hatter's hat, being released to the public. According to an interview Caroline Dries gave to Entertainment Weekly, anyone can now pick them up, which means Season 3 will see "a combination of people who come and pick them up and the villains themselves, and derivatives of those villains."
Meanwhile, fans can expect plenty of family drama in Season 3, as it was revealed in the finale that Ryan's biological mother is not dead after all! "I think I always had a feeling when we started this season that we never addressed Ryan's biological parents and that would always end up being something that gets addressed in a very tricky Gotham way," Leslie told Entertainment Weekly after the episode. "Now that we know that there is a possibility or maybe just it is the truth that Ryan's mother, her biological mother is still alive, I just am so excited for Season 3 because this is just a whole [new] world that we'll be able to enter."
